Churches Together in the Bishops Waltham Area Churches Together in the Bishop’s Waltham AreaChurches Together in the Bishop’s Waltham Area is a united group of Clergy and Laity from about 18 local churches and Fellowships who meet every other month to discuss ways of promoting our faith within the Bishop’s Waltham area. There is a strong focus on ecology, with encouragement for all churches to do their own "eco-audit". Every year, groups meet for a Lent course - this involves about 300 people studying together. Roman Catholic: Bishops Waltham Anglican Churches: The Parish Church of St Peter, Bishop's Waltham in the Anglican Diocese of Portsmouth Web Site: http://stpetersbishopswaltham.org.uk/ There are 11 more Anglican Churches in the Bishops Waltham Deanery : Curdridge, Droxford, Durley, Hambedon, Meonstoke and Corhampton, Shedfield, Soberton, Southwick, Swanmore, Upham, Wickham. The Methodist Circuit of the Meon Valley The Circuit is set in the beautiful Meon Valley and extends from the village of Hambledon in the east to Shirrell Heath in the west. Other village chapels serve Soberton Heath (with Soberton and Newtown) and Swanmore . The growing residential area of Waltham Chase is served by a modem worship centre from which many ministries reach into the community. The town church of Bishops Waltham is a joint Methodist/URC witness. The Circuit enjoys excellent relationships with the Anglican Deanery and the Catholic and independent churches. There is a strong Churches Together.
