Churches Together in Chandlers Ford

Churches Together in Chandlers Ford (CTCF)

Representatives from the churches in Chandler's Ford meet five times a year to discuss matters of mutual interest. Each church is represented by its minister or leader and one other representative. Chairmanship of CTCF rotates around the churches on an annual basis and the position can be held by a minister or lay person. The group has no executive role but does have some responsibilities and the main ones are: -

  • Selecting material for, and arranging, ecumenical Lent groups;
  • Producing and distributing Christmas and Easter leaflets to inform the local community of the activities at the local churches
  • Arranging carol singing outside a local supermarket
  • Arranging joint services for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity in January and Christian Aid week in May.
  • Arranging any other ecumenical services for the Chandlers Ford area.
  • Providing services at local residential care homes.

CTCF comprises a number of churches of different denominations, including Anglican, Roman Catholic, Methodist, United Reformed, independent Evangelical and Community churches.

All these Churches are committed to the proclamation of the good news of God's love for all people as expressed in Jesus Christ. They have a concern for issues of justice and peace, believing in the transforming power of God's love in Christ in the lives of individuals and the community.
